Mater Amoris Welcomes Montessori Students from Sweden

We are excited to welcome five exchange students and their teacher, Eva Melin, who will arrive this evening from Sjostjarneskolan (on the island of Reso), Sweden. The students will be meeting their host families tonight and getting adjusted to the routines of their temporary household over the next few days.

The Upper Juniors have a full week of events planned with the Swedish students! We'll start the week off with a Waffle Breakfast at school. Everyone will wear their pajamas and bring a change of clothes for PE Monday morning. On Tuesday, we will be visiting the Washington Zoo in our green school shirts. Wednesday promises to be a lot of fun as we don our shirts again and tour the US Capitol, visit the Natural History Museum, and see some other historic DC sites, followed by a trip to the Maryland Science Center Thursday! After a morning in the classroom Friday, we plan to head to Columbia Mall's Escape Room in the afternoon, and then we will be traveling to Great Falls, Virginia on Saturday for a final day of fun!

Thank you to our families for hosting the visitors this week! What a lovely opportunity for both the visiting students and the host students to share each others' culture and traditions.
